About Me
I'm passionate about writing and speaking.
By day, I work at a small self-financed centre at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I've been working with corporate clients and government to enhance the writing and speaking skills of their staff for almost 15 years.
Our signature program is 'Plain English'. Learn more about it on another of my blogs:
Plain English Asia: Better writing. Better business.
In 2002, I was cajoled into joining the Toastmasters club in the bank where I was working. Since I was a trainer, I was "told" to go and mentor the members. To my surprise, I enjoyed it immensely. When I left the bank, my good friend Brett invited me to join Centraler Toastmasters. I am an active member, contestant, mentor and workshop leader. And I still enjoy it!
I am also a mother of two: Kashi, 4 and Benjamin, 3.
I firmly believe that we are all born with an innate ability to speak. With the right coaching, we can all speak publicly as well as we do privately.
I sincerely hope that this blog will inspire you to develop this essential skill to the point where you too actually enjoy stepping onto the stage as I do.
