Almost 100 aspiring champions - or otherwise curious - Toastmasters gathered at the PolyU last Saturday to hear Donald Yee.
Donald Yee. This is a man that almost needs no introduction. If you are a TM in HK, you heard about him before you heard him speak. And unlike a lot of what is lauded in HK, Donald doesn't disappoint.
Just to give you a taste, here's a speech he delivered back in 2001:
On Saturday, Donald shared his top tips for winning in contests. Why would he do that?!! He is himself striving for the title of World Champion! Why give away all his secrets?!!
I'd say, firstly, that Donald is a generous guy. In the true spirit of Toastmasters, he's sharing his experience with others and encouraging some healthy competition. (Also, I'm sure he did keep a few crucial secrets for himself.)
